This week has seen the horrendous storms hitting the UK. In particular the southcoast and specifically a place about five minutes away...Portland.
Not only have the flood and evacuation sirens been blaring (first time since WWII apparently) but the community has come out in full force to keep each other going.
Among everything else, the care continues within the Isle. What tends to be forgotten or lost amongst the chaos is this...
...many of the carers who carry on with the visits,( ensuring in addition to all other duties, the safety of the person requiring care and the safety of their homes), return to their own homes on Portland to face and deal with any damage they may have recieved.
So, please, spare a thought for the many who carry on regardless. All the emergency services and everyone involved.
Today,Sunday, thankfully there is a clear blue sky, still quite windy and very chilly.
I have included a clip taken in Chiswell when it all started. Not much happens to begin with but stay with it and you will soon realise the power of mother nature.
Keep safe everyone and thank you to all who keep going!xx
